ONW Interview

For this video project we had to interview someone from our class about something they do in their life. The very first thing we had to do was chose a subject. My group and I chose Drew Swecki, he was apart of this years Raven Pride Marching Band. After we chose the main subject we had to chose another person who knows Drew and is somehow connected to what he is involved in. The second subject was Mr. Carter who is Drew's instructor for front ensemble. After we figured out who we were interviewing we came up with 21 questions for both of them. Coming up with 21 questions about something you don't know much about was very hard. So Jaden Brown, who was also a member of the Raven Pride Marching Band, came up with most of the questions.

When we were done coming up with questions we then scouted out locations. We were going to film Drew in the band room but the scenery wasn't very good. We also had to film him about 3 times because no one knew how to work the mic at first and then the second time the mic wasn't on. For the final time we filmed Drew in the e-Comm break room. By the time we interviewed Mr. Carter it was really easy. We only filmed him once, in one of the teacher break rooms, and knew how to work all the equipment.

Michael Decker filmed the b-roll for our group but unfortunately we couldn't use it. So instead we just used previous band competition clips from online this year. For more b-roll Ava filmed the trophies that the band had one and the band wall.

While editing putting all the clips together wasn't very hard. I kind of already knew what I wanted to do.

Nature Man

For the Nature Man project we had to use all the skills we learned in Adobe Photoshop to create a better version of the original picture. He's called Nature Man because some pictures that were already provided for us in the server had to do with nature. The pictures consisted of roots, a cliff, trees and water. I restarted several times creating Nature Man because I didn't like what I had come up with. My first creation was horrible. I think I didn't like it because the only pictures I had used the ones provided and nature doesn't interest me. The second time I was going for a blue theme. The suit was going to be many different shades of blues mixed together. That didn't work out because the jacket looked too fake and it wouldn't blend very well.  For the third time the picture above is what I came up with.    After trying to go with a blue theme I changed my mind and decided to go with purple since it's my favorite color. But I knew I couldn...

Procedures Video

For this project we had to create a video of procedures done around the school. My group and I chose to do a procedure over a fire drill. The first thing we had to was create a storyboard to sketch out all the shots we wanted to use. We had to use at least 6 different shots. I feel like story boarding was the hardest part of this project. Everyone had so many ideas and sometimes we couldn't agree but we eventually came up with our plan. Next we began to shoot the video and shot it over a period of 2 days. This part was very easy because we already came up with a plan but it was very time consuming. In the video you could see we went outside and if it wasn't right we would have to go through many steps to go back out again. The editing process was time consuming too. We had filmed so many different clips and I didn't know which ones I wanted to use. Eventually I figured it out and was very pleased with my video. One thing I would change would be the alarm sound. Instead o...

Printing Process

Last week in graphic design we learned about the printing process. We had to watch 3 videos about different printing process and how to do them. After we wrote blog posts about, relief, intilagio and lithography printing. But we didn't do any of those 3, instead we did transfer printing. We started by picking 2 of our favorite projects we had done so far. I picked my nature man and the panorama project. Next we watercolored 2 papers so we could transfer our projects on them. After everyone was done water coloring we mod poged the pictures. We used a squeegee to rub the mod podge across the paper so our hands didn't get messy. When the mod podge was dry we then had to rub it off to see that our picture was transfer onto the paper. To rub it off we had to wet our fingers and rub pretty hard to have the mod podge come off. When everyone was done our teacher then took them home to to add a gloss over them. Finally we hung them up in our classroom. Overall this was really fun an...
