Website

Overview             In e-Comm we made a website. Mr. Olson made video for us to follow along with while making our website. We were instructed to make a home page with a side bar, and a projects page similar to the home page also with a side bar.  In the side bar we added links to the home/projects page, the ONW website, e-Comm website and our blog. On the projects page we added our favorite projects that we have done this semester. What I Learned Overall in this week I learned a lot. I learned a new program, Dreamweaver, that I had never used before. In Dreamweaver we learned about all the different tools you can use to make a website. After making the basics of a website we learned how to add photos and videos from our projects. When we finished we learned how to design our website and then take a screen shot of it. While making the website I learned all about the different...

House

concrete block grey  grey roofing shingles     blacktop old 01 Overview Over the past few weeks in e-comm we have been making houses in google sketch-up. Our goal was to make a house based on a house we found on a website called houseplans. Then we were supposed to make a basic cube based on the floor plans of our house. After making the basics we were to add the details using the tools on sketch-up to make our house as similar to house we chose.  What I Learned During this project I learned about google sketch-up. First we learned the two ways to make things, to add or cut out, practicing by making chairs. We learned that the three basic tools of sketch-up are orbit, pan, and zoom. After learning the basics we started on our houses. Making our houses we also used the push/pull, rectangle, and paint tools. How it Went Overall this project went very well. At first it was difficult to use sketch-up, but after practicing by making chai...

Bounce

Overview  In this project we were to create 3 different animations. The first one was just a red ball jumping up and down, then the second was a ball bouncing across the canvas. Then last the last one could be whatever we wanted with a surprise emding. How to do it First we had to make a background for the project then make many copies of a ball and make it bounce. We used the command, option-drag key a lot to copy items. Once we copied the balls we had to move them around to make it look as if they were bouncing. Next we created the animation and we had to go frame by frame until thr animation was complete. Conclusin I think this project was very successful and fun to do. If I did it again I would pay more attention on frames and come up with a better surprise animation.

10 words

Overview One of the first animation projects I had to do was create an animation over the 10 words that I used to describe me and to include my first and last name. To create the animation we were told to use Adobe Photoshop. We had to learn new skills in Photoshop but some things I already knew from using Adobe Illustrator. Then we created the actual animation. How to do it First we had to type out the ten words to describe us and our name on Photoshop. Then change the color, font and size so each word is different. Next we arranged the words and our name on the canvas. We had to remember it had to be pleasing to the eye and the white space should stay the same between each word. The final step was to make the letters move from one point to another. Some transitions included it going from one point to another, fading and flipping around. After this the animation was finished. Conclusion I think this project turned out to be a great one. We were able to learn the basics of...

Logo Project

For this project we were given the task to create a logo. We were supposed to create one as if it was used for a company, so professional like. To make a logo you had to keep in mind that this logo could go on a vehicle, billboard, storefront etc. The process was very long and hard and made me realize what graphic designers have to go through. My very first sketches were on graphing paper and turned out to look nothing like my final logo. I was just drawing stuff to see what I would like. I have no artistic ability and this was very hard. Sometimes the logo was too simple or too intricate to do on Adobe Illustrator. I also took in my friends opinions on what they liked and what they didn't. Mr. Olson also gave us examples of his own logo process and how many different designs he originally had and how it changed drastically throughout. After the first set of sketches we had to choose at least the three we liked and put on a separate piece of paper and discuss them with Mr. Olson....

Typography Project

Overview In this project, we were supposed to create our name to show different terms of typography by using Adobe Illustrator. Before we started, we were given some basic knowledge about typography. This included different fonts, and parts of letters. We then used what we knew about Adobe Illustrator to create a name line to show our knowledge in typography. This project once again I believe was a very good stepping stone in my knowledge and I think it will be very useful in the future. What I learned We started off by writing our names and sizing it to our liking, and then making three different lines to represent the height of the different parts of the letters. We used two solid red lines and one dashed red line, to go in the middle of the other two. Then we labeled different parts of our name with words and arrows. For this part of the project I used the Option-Drag skill to copy the arrows and labels and change them to what they needed to be. We had to label at least ...

Logo Color Schemes

Analogous: BP uses the analogous color scheme of green, yellow and yellow-green. I think the company probably chose these colors is to show they are environment safe. Jamba Juice uses the analogous color scheme of yellow, yellow-orange and yellow-green. I think the company probably chose these colors is to show that they have many different fruity flavors. Complementary: Fanta uses the complementary color scheme of orange and blue. I think the company probably uses these colors to represent there orange flavored soda and how it's also refreshing. Chili's uses the complementary colors of red and blue-green. I think the company probably chose these colors to represent a red pepper which is also apart of their logo. Warm: McDonalds’s uses the warm colors of red and yellow. I think the company probably chose these colors to represent that there food is hot meaning cooked fresh. Red Bull uses the warm colors of red and yellow. I think the company probably chos...
