Semester 2- Video

Music Video      My group decided to recreate High School Musical 2's, Bet On It, music video. The first thing we decided on was who was playing Troy in the music video. We had a perfect match and it was one of our own team members, Alex Pauli. After pre-production we were ready to film. The filming process was a little hard. My group wasn't very smart for choosing a music video set outdoors in the summer time when it was the middle of January and February. My main role in the filming process was teaching Alex the dance moves and helping with certain shots in the video. The shots for this video were not that difficult. Most of them were regular shots we could shoot on a tripod but sometimes we had to hold it to pan with Alex. Overall I thought this project was really fun. The team that I was with worked well together and we had some fun while creating this music video. If I were to do this again I would pick a different music video just because of the weather. Semester 2- Graphic Design

This semester in graphic design has been filled with many fun and creative projects. One of my favorites was the vector project. While working in Adobe Illustrator we had to recreate a picture of us using the pen tool to create different shapes and colors. This project took about 2 weeks to complete. The first thing we had to do was find a picture, then vectorize it in Adobe Photoshop to see all the different color to create the finished project. This project was not that hard just very time consuming. At first I didn't know where to start on the but once I did it was pretty easy. My vector isn't very detailed like others but ended up still being good.  My second favorite project, is the most recent, the name logo. I really liked this one because I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted. At first we had to sketch at least 30 different designs just to get us started. Then we chose our top 5 that we liked. After we traced all 5 into Adobe Illustrator it was now time fo

Music Video

My group decided to recreate High School Musical 2's, Bet On It, music video. The first thing we decided on was who was playing Troy in the music video. We had a perfect match and it was one of our own team members, Alex Pauli. After we began the pre-production process. Each of us had to watch a few seconds of the original music video and storyboard each scene within those seconds. For example we had to write down if the shots changed, if the camera panned and some dance moves that Troy had to do. After pre-production we were ready to film. The filming process was a little hard. My group wasn't very smart for choosing a music video set outdoors in the summer time when it was the middle of January and February. We had to work around the weather because it was either snowing, raining or just too cold. Eventually we were able to film and it was really fun. My main role in the filming process was teaching Alex the dance moves and helping with certain shots in the video.

Vector

For this project we had to choose a portrait of a family member, pet or our self and recreate it in Adobe Illustrator. After choosing the picture we wanted we had to put it in Adobe Photoshop first. We cropped the image and posterized it to whatever number you wanted. We had to posterize it to see the different highlights and shadows on our picture.      The hardest part about this project was trying to differentiate all the shadows and highlights on the body. I only did the ones that seemed the most important to me. I decided to really simplify my vector down because tracing every different thing looked weird to me. I think my favorite part about my vector is the eyebrows, eyes and the raven on the front of the outfit. Those really turned out great. Overall I think this is one of my favorite projects so far in graphic design. After finishing this one I wanted to create another vector right away. Just watching it all come together was really cool. But a tip if you have to

Typograpghy

For this project we worked in Adobe Illustrator to create different quotes. The first thing we did was look online for 10 different quotes that stood out to us. Next we had to look at fonts to see which ones we wanted to use for our quotes. I didn't know what to pick at first because so many of them were similar, weird or just not right for the quote. I ended up choosing a lot of cursive fonts because they were really cute to me.       The first thing I did was write out the quotes I liked in a random font. After that I began to move the words around and choose the fonts for each one. Next I began to add color to the quotes and things in the background.  Overall I enjoyed this project. It was actually harder than I thought it was going to be. Deciding on what to do for each quote was the hard part for me. If I were to do this project again I would work on filling up the artboard space more.

Video Final

News Story        For this project we had to create a story about someone in our class that is involved with something that is connected to ONW. My team and I chose Drew who was on the Raven Pride Marching Band. This project took about 3 weeks to complete. The most challenging part about this project was Drew's interview. We had to reschedule about 3 times because we couldn't get the mic to work. The third time we shot the interview, with Drew, we didn't get to use a mic because they were all taken. After showing the video to the class I received some good feedback. I needed to turn up the volume on some parts and make sure to adjust the rule of thirds on some clips. Some positive feedback I received was the b roll was pretty good. This project was really fun and this is why I decided to share it for my semester final. ONW NOW      For our final semester project the sophomores in video had to make our own version of ONW NOW. Out of all the projects this w

ONW Now

For our final project this semester we had the opportunity to film a sophomore edition of ONW Now. The first thing we had to do was decide for ourselves what segment we wanted to make a story over. We could chose between sports, news, feature story, word from the halls and even decide to be an anchor. I chose to do a sports story and to be an anchor and that's what I ended up getting. After we got our jobs we finally got our teams. I was with Josh Burton, Molly Weir, Ethan Goss, and Logan Read. Out of this whole year this was the best team I worked with. Since we were assigned sports at first we were going to do it over boys basketball but couldn't because they were in a tournament and no one could make it to their games. Then we decided on girls basketball. Josh, Ethan, and I did interviews while Logan did the voice over and helped Molly edit. Josh also went to one of the girls practices and then Molly went to one of their games. While all the teams were still finishing thei
