Video Final

News Story

For this project we had to create a story about someone in our class that is involved with something that is connected to ONW. My team and I chose Drew who was on the Raven Pride Marching Band. This project took about 3 weeks to complete. The most challenging part about this project was Drew's interview. We had to reschedule about 3 times because we couldn't get the mic to work. The third time we shot the interview, with Drew, we didn't get to use a mic because they were all taken. After showing the video to the class I received some good feedback. I needed to turn up the volume on some parts and make sure to adjust the rule of thirds on some clips. Some positive feedback I received was the b roll was pretty good. This project was really fun and this is why I decided to share it for my semester final.

ONW NOW

For our final semester project the sophomores in video had to make our own version of ONW NOW. Out of all the projects this was the one I felt like took the least amount of time to do. We had about one week to complete the whole thing. There weren't many challenges in the beginning but most happened during the actual filming process. During the filming process everyone was getting a little impatient and started getting annoyed with each other. That had to do with mics, cameras and teleprompters not working. But in the end it turned out great for never doing this before. From this whole project I learned that doing ONW NOW is harder than it looks. There's also many things done behind the camera that no one sees that takes a lot of hard work and patients. Overall doing this project was really fun and I learned so much that I didn't think I would. It even helped me decide that I want to go to sports next year for ONW NOW.

Reflection

This semester in video was very fun and has taught me so much. I got to make cool videos and work with many different people. I think this semester would have gone better if I focused more and managed my time a little bit more. I could also learn how to use the camera and its equipment a little bit more. But I am good at being an editor or a director. Overall video had its ups and downs but I can't wait for next semester. I will manage my time in and out of class better so my projects can be the best that they can be.

Printing Process

Last week in graphic design we learned about the printing process. We had to watch 3 videos about different printing process and how to do them. After we wrote blog posts about, relief, intilagio and lithography printing. But we didn't do any of those 3, instead we did transfer printing. We started by picking 2 of our favorite projects we had done so far. I picked my nature man and the panorama project. Next we watercolored 2 papers so we could transfer our projects on them. After everyone was done water coloring we mod poged the pictures. We used a squeegee to rub the mod podge across the paper so our hands didn't get messy. When the mod podge was dry we then had to rub it off to see that our picture was transfer onto the paper. To rub it off we had to wet our fingers and rub pretty hard to have the mod podge come off. When everyone was done our teacher then took them home to to add a gloss over them. Finally we hung them up in our classroom. Overall this was really fun an...

Vector

For this project we had to choose a portrait of a family member, pet or our self and recreate it in Adobe Illustrator. After choosing the picture we wanted we had to put it in Adobe Photoshop first. We cropped the image and posterized it to whatever number you wanted. We had to posterize it to see the different highlights and shadows on our picture.      The hardest part about this project was trying to differentiate all the shadows and highlights on the body. I only did the ones that seemed the most important to me. I decided to really simplify my vector down because tracing every different thing looked weird to me. I think my favorite part about my vector is the eyebrows, eyes and the raven on the front of the outfit. Those really turned out great. Overall I think this is one of my favorite projects so far in graphic design. After finishing this one I wanted to create another vector right away. Just watching it all come together was really co...

Semester 2- Graphic Design

This semester in graphic design has been filled with many fun and creative projects. One of my favorites was the vector project. While working in Adobe Illustrator we had to recreate a picture of us using the pen tool to create different shapes and colors. This project took about 2 weeks to complete. The first thing we had to do was find a picture, then vectorize it in Adobe Photoshop to see all the different color to create the finished project. This project was not that hard just very time consuming. At first I didn't know where to start on the but once I did it was pretty easy. My vector isn't very detailed like others but ended up still being good.  My second favorite project, is the most recent, the name logo. I really liked this one because I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted. At first we had to sketch at least 30 different designs just to get us started. Then we chose our top 5 that we liked. After we traced all 5 into Adobe Illustrator it was now time fo...
