Logo Project

For this project we were given the task to create a logo. We were supposed to create one as if it was used for a company, so professional like. To make a logo you had to keep in mind that this logo could go on a vehicle, billboard, storefront etc. The process was very long and hard and made me realize what graphic designers have to go through. My very first sketches were on graphing paper and turned out to look nothing like my final logo. I was just drawing stuff to see what I would like. I have no artistic ability and this was very hard. Sometimes the logo was too simple or too intricate to do on Adobe Illustrator. I also took in my friends opinions on what they liked and what they didn't. Mr. Olson also gave us examples of his own logo process and how many different designs he originally had and how it changed drastically throughout. After the first set of sketches we had to choose at least the three we liked and put on a separate piece of paper and discuss them with Mr. Olson....

Typography Project

Overview In this project, we were supposed to create our name to show different terms of typography by using Adobe Illustrator. Before we started, we were given some basic knowledge about typography. This included different fonts, and parts of letters. We then used what we knew about Adobe Illustrator to create a name line to show our knowledge in typography. What I learned We started off by writing our names and sizing it to our liking, and then making three different lines to represent the height of the different parts of the letters. We used two solid red lines and one dashed red line, to go in the middle of the other two. Then we labeled different parts of our name with words and arrows. For this part of the project I used the Option-Drag skill to copy the arrows and labels and change them to what they needed to be. We had to label at least ...

Logo Color Schemes

Analogous: BP uses the analogous color scheme of green, yellow and yellow-green. I think the company probably chose these colors is to show they are environment safe. Jamba Juice uses the analogous color scheme of yellow, yellow-orange and yellow-green. I think the company probably chose these colors is to show that they have many different fruity flavors. Complementary: Fanta uses the complementary color scheme of orange and blue. I think the company probably uses these colors to represent there orange flavored soda and how it's also refreshing. Chili's uses the complementary colors of red and blue-green. I think the company probably chose these colors to represent a red pepper which is also apart of their logo. Warm: McDonalds’s uses the warm colors of red and yellow. I think the company probably chose these colors to represent that there food is hot meaning cooked fresh. Red Bull uses the warm colors of red and yellow. I think the company probably chos...
