D.C. Panorama

The summer of 2018 I traveled to Washington D.C. The trip was for members of the Raven Dance team and the Raven Pride Band. All of us met in the auditorium at 7, on the last day of school, and loaded up the buses. We traveled by charter buses and it took about 21 hours to get there. After I while I got sick and tired of being trapped on the bus, with so many people, but looking back it was kind of fun. The JV dance team was able to bond and I met a lot members in the band that I didn't know before. First thing we did after arriving in D.C. was bowling. The middle picture on the top was actually right before we went bowling. There's a river that we had to walk over and I thought it was really pretty.

Over the next few days we just went to a bunch of different monuments. My favorite monuments are in the panorama above. The real reason the band and dance team went to D.C. was to march in the memorial day parade. I was very nervous and excited at the same time. Both of us have been in parades before, like the Old Settlers Day Parade but this one is a much bigger deal. There were so many people and the walk was long. The Memorial Day Parade was even on t.v.

Going to D.C. was so much fun. I wish I could go back because everything went by so fast. What I miss most was how the team was bonding so well together and how I made new friendships with some people in band.

Printing Process

Last week in graphic design we learned about the printing process. We had to watch 3 videos about different printing process and how to do them. After we wrote blog posts about, relief, intilagio and lithography printing. But we didn't do any of those 3, instead we did transfer printing. We started by picking 2 of our favorite projects we had done so far. I picked my nature man and the panorama project. Next we watercolored 2 papers so we could transfer our projects on them. After everyone was done water coloring we mod poged the pictures. We used a squeegee to rub the mod podge across the paper so our hands didn't get messy. When the mod podge was dry we then had to rub it off to see that our picture was transfer onto the paper. To rub it off we had to wet our fingers and rub pretty hard to have the mod podge come off. When everyone was done our teacher then took them home to to add a gloss over them. Finally we hung them up in our classroom. Overall this was really fun an...

Vector

For this project we had to choose a portrait of a family member, pet or our self and recreate it in Adobe Illustrator. After choosing the picture we wanted we had to put it in Adobe Photoshop first. We cropped the image and posterized it to whatever number you wanted. We had to posterize it to see the different highlights and shadows on our picture.      The hardest part about this project was trying to differentiate all the shadows and highlights on the body. I only did the ones that seemed the most important to me. I decided to really simplify my vector down because tracing every different thing looked weird to me. I think my favorite part about my vector is the eyebrows, eyes and the raven on the front of the outfit. Those really turned out great. Overall I think this is one of my favorite projects so far in graphic design. After finishing this one I wanted to create another vector right away. Just watching it all come together was really co...

Semester 2- Graphic Design

This semester in graphic design has been filled with many fun and creative projects. One of my favorites was the vector project. While working in Adobe Illustrator we had to recreate a picture of us using the pen tool to create different shapes and colors. This project took about 2 weeks to complete. The first thing we had to do was find a picture, then vectorize it in Adobe Photoshop to see all the different color to create the finished project. This project was not that hard just very time consuming. At first I didn't know where to start on the but once I did it was pretty easy. My vector isn't very detailed like others but ended up still being good.  My second favorite project, is the most recent, the name logo. I really liked this one because I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted. At first we had to sketch at least 30 different designs just to get us started. Then we chose our top 5 that we liked. After we traced all 5 into Adobe Illustrator it was now time fo...
